1. The Vision: Learning "In a Heartbeat"
At Hatch Kids, we set out to transform the fragmented landscape of educational apps into a unified, high-performance cloud gaming platform. By leveraging cloud technology, we enabled children to stream premium educational content instantly on any device, bypassing the need for expensive hardware or long download times.
2. Design Challenge: Fun meets Functional
Designing for children requires a radical shift in UX philosophy. The interface needed to be fun, intuitive and simple enough for a 4-year-old to navigate independently, yet engaging enough to compete with mainstream entertainment.
Strategy: Leveraging Intuitive Mental Models
I led the Creative Vision and product vision, focusing on Play-First UX.
UI as a Playground:
In Hatch Kids, the learning journey begins before the first game is even launched. I directed a "Play-First" interface where the act of exploration is gamified. I moved away from linguistic barriers, instead designing a visual and sonic language. Through bright color-coding and responsive soundscapes, I turned "searching" into "discovery," ensuring that the interface felt like a tactile toy rather than a static menu.
Premium Brand Integration:
I oversaw the creative integration of world-class content from partners like Toca Boca, Sago Mini and Shaun the Sheep, ensuring these beloved characters felt native to our high-fidelity cloud environment.
Key Features: Seamless, Safe, and Sustainable:
Cross-Device Performance: High-fidelity cloud execution optimized for both high-end and legacy mobile hardware.
Parental Trust Suite: Secure ecosystem with automated screen-time boundaries and ad-free, curated content.
Hybrid Connectivity: Strategic implementation of offline streaming features to support "on-the-go" learning and low-bandwidth scenarios.

3.Business Engine: Growth & Optimization
Beyond the creative vision, I oversaw the full AARRR (Pirate Metrics) framework to ensure the platform’s commercial viability:
- Acquisition & Activation: Streamlining the onboarding process for parents while maintaining high excitement for children.
- Retention & Conversion: By analyzing behavior across European markets over six months, we identified the "Aha! moment" for young learners, leading to impressive retention and conversion metrics that outperformed industry benchmarks for educational apps.

4. Results:
5. Global Impact & Endorsement
The success of Hatch Kids transcended commercial metrics, gaining recognition at the highest levels of global education policy.
UNESCO 40th General Conference: Hatch Kids was invited to Paris to showcase the future of digital literacy. I had the honor of presenting our platform to Finnish Minister of Education, Li Andersson, and other world leaders, demonstrating how fun learning and cloud gaming can bridge the gap in educational equity.
